Lorde Performs “Solar Power” On The Late Show

Lorde appeared as the musical guest on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Lorde decided to perform her new song “Solar Power” for the first time live. She did so on the beautiful rooftop of the Ed Sullivan Theater with the New York City skyline behind her.

Lorde began the song near the ledge of the rooftop, then slowly moved her way over to the seven members of her band who stood on a circular reflective stage. Lorde wore a light yellow skirt and matching top for the performance of “Solar Power.” Near the end of the song, a shower of bubbles spread across the stage and floated around Lorde and her band.

“Solar Power” was released on June 10th, along with an accompanying music video that shows Lorde dancing and singing with other women on a beach. Backup vocals on the track feature Phoebe Bridgers, and Clairo. Lorde also provided backup vocals to Clairo’s recent track “Blouse.”
