Green Day, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy Start Hella Mega Tour in Dallas

The Hella Mega Tour featuring Green Day, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy kicked off on Saturday, July 24th in Dallas, TX. The original dates of the tour were scheduled throughout 2020, though it has been delayed twice since then because of COVID-19. Globe Life Stadium was where the show took place, and it was packed to the brim with a sold-out crowd of 35,000, mostly unmasked, for the performance. The audience was given a show of just under 5 hours between the bands performing. 

At one point during their show, Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer for Green Day, said to the audience, ​​“Take a look around you. This is human contact. We cannot be locked up anymore. We need to be together.”

Weezer posted some pictures from the show in an Instagram post along with the caption “After, well, you know… the @hellamegatour finally kicked off tonight in Dallas! We were ready. @theinterrupters @falloutboy and @greenday were ready. And the fans were DEFINITELY ready. Thanks to all – let’s keep it going! #karlscorner.”

Amongst, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and Green Day classics performed on Saturday night, the Interrupters also took the stage to play some of their songs, and also covered Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” Green Day also surprised fans by covering Kiss’ “Rock and Roll All Nite.”
