Elmo Got A Talk Show! The-Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo

Elmo got a talk show! The first episode of The-Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo premiered on Wednesday, May 27 with the help of musical guests Lil Nas X and Kacey Musgraves

This new spin-off of Sesame Street will consist of thirteen 15-minute long episodes that will premiere weekly on the streaming service HBO Max. Each episode of the show will demonstrate a different part of a typical bedtime routine, with the goal to “help children bring their day to a close while reinforcing their own family’s evening rituals,” according to the official Sesame Street website.

While the show’s target audience is children, getting to see current celebrities having fun with a nostalgic character from everyone’s childhood is sure to provide some much-needed light-hearted entertainment to any age group, even adults! You can see highlights from the show on the official Sesame Street Youtube channel. Two clips from the first episode are currently posted, including Kacey Musgraves singing “Rubber Ducky” with Elmo and Lil Nas X helping Elmo sing a slightly hip-hop infused remix of “Elmo’s song.”

Other confirmed celebrities that will be featured on this special late-night talk show straight from Elmo’s living room include Sara Bareilles, Ciara, Jimmy Fallon, H.E.R., Pentatonix, John Mulaney, and more. Mulaney even posted a classic late-night talk show photo with Elmo on his official Instagram page. In the caption, he calls the interview “hard hitting” and hints at a tricycle race and sheep.
