New Music Friday: Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, Andrew Thomas, Chvrches

Billie Eilish released “Lost Cause” on Wednesday, which is another single off of her upcoming album Happier Than Ever to be released July 30th. The song was accompanied by a music video that Eilish directed. The video featured Eilish and a group of girls in a house having fun, and singing along with the song which talks about a man being a lost cause. 

On Tuesday, Lana Del Rey released her new album, Rock Candy Sweet. This album comes shortly after her most recent release back in March, Chemtrails Over the Country Club. When Lana Del Rey announced the new album, she included her thoughts on a recently released article by Harper’s Bazaar, which criticized the artist. Rock Candy Sweet includes the songs “Blue Banisters,” “Wildflower Wildfire,” and “Text Book.”

Lil Baby and Lil Durk teamed up for a new album released today called, Voice of the Heroes. On Monday, the duo released the title track off of the album, along with an accompanying music video. Voice of the Heroes comes out after Lil Baby and Lil Durk also worked together on the track “Every Chance I Get” on DJ Khaled’s album Khaled Khaled back in April. 

Roddy Ricch & Mustard teamed up again with “Late At Night”. The two dominated the charts on “Ballin” and are poised to take over the airwaves with their latest single. They even released a video for the record.

Meek Mill returns with a new single “Flamerz Flow” while Yo-Gotti his DaBaby assisted single “Drop”. Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny released “Yonaguni” today and his latest effort is sure to take over the airwaves. Andrew Thomas released a music video for his new single “Liquor Talk” which debuted on MTV Live. 

Chvrches released a new song on Wednesday called “How Not To Drown” featuring The Cure’s Robert Smith. The single came along with the official announcement of the band’s fourth album, Screen Violence, to be released on August 27th. “How Not To Drown” showcases Chvrches alternative rock side, and Smith’s vocals accompany the band’s music, and lead singer Lauren Mayberry’s voice fantastically. 

The indie artist, Japanese Breakfast releases their new album Jubilee today. When describing the album lead singer, Michelle Zauner said, “After spending the last five years writing about grief, I wanted our follow-up to be about joy. For me, a third record should feel bombastic and so I wanted to pull out all the stops for this one … I wanted to re-experience the pure, unadulterated joy of creation.” The previously released tracks “Posing in Bondage,” “Be Sweet,” and “Savage Good Boy” will be included on the album.
