The announcement comes on Drake’s 34th birthday. Toronto’s very own superstar recreates some of his most famous and iconic album covers in the video, including Nothing Was The Same, Take Care, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, and also some of his mixtapes, Comeback Season and So Far Gone.

T.I. Responds to Verzuz Challenges from Busta Rhymes & Jeezy

Music lovers could be in for a ride in the new season of Verzuz, the smash-hit musical competition, produced by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.

Just recently, legendary rapper Busta Rhymes challenged another legend of the game, T.I., to square off in a rap battle. T.I. however, declined to participate, stating the generational gap between the two artists as a reason.

TI said, however, that he could consider doing a battle with 50 Cent or Jeezy, but still didn’t give a battle against Busta any possibility.

Jeezy, fellow ATL native, responded with a challenge for Tip, sending out a video for him in which he says; “Put a date on it… I aint gonna meet you there, Imma beat you there.”

Shortly after Jeezy’s challenge, T.I. made some remarks questioning if it was for him, and, ultimately, decided to accept the challenge, which we can’t see soon enough.

We’ve been working on a Metallica cover album, and I’m here working on that. We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it felt uninspiring, and now I’ve been totally ignited.”

Kendrick Lamar finally broke his silence in an interview for i-D. The Compton MC talks about why he will never do a “Good Kid M.A.A.D. City 2” and more with Baby Keem.

The interview came with some interesting revelations that could give us a look into what’s in store from Kendrick. He spoke on needing inspiration for his albums and searching for a new sound.

“I spend the whole year just thinking about how I’m gonna execute a new sound, I can’t do the same thing over and over,” he explains to Keem. “I need something to get me excited.” He spoke on the pressure felt to execute his sophomore album, good kid, m.A.A.d City, while explaining why he’ll never make a sequel.

“I remember the sophomore jinx of good kid, m.A.A.d City; it was for that year and for that time,”he says. “I was in a different space in my life. I already knew off the top I can’t make good kid, m.A.A.d City Part Two. The second I’m making that, it’s corny bro. That takes the feeling away from the first. I need that muthafucka to live in its own world. Then boom, To Pimp A Butterfly. Some people love it to death, some people hate it.”

Kendrick finally broke his silence in the wake of the pgLang announcement. Early 2020 Kendrick announced a new creative company called pgLang in conjunction with from President of TDE Dave Free. The company announced one of its artists Baby Keem.

Baby Keem released a single “Hooligan” last month in what seems to be the first release under pgLang.

Tensnake Releases New Album “L.A.” This Friday

German music producer and DJ, Marco Niemerski, better known as Tensnake, is releasing his long-awaited album “L.A.”, this Friday, October 16.

A dance music pioneer, Tensnake first made waves with his single “Coma Cat”, in the early 2010s. Since then, he has managed to cement his status as a leading dance music producer over the years.

Tensnake has already delivered 5 singles for “L.A.”, starting with “Rules”, “Automatic”, “Somebody Else” “Make You Mine” and “Strange Without You”. Speaking of “Automatic”, released early 2020, the German said:

“I have been impatiently waiting for this day to finally officially announce that a new Tensnake album is on the way. ‘Automatic’ is the first single and I couldn’t be happier to have it out now. The origins of this song go way back. It is a cover of one of my all-time favorite ‘80s songs, and Fiora and I recorded the vocals while we were working together on my debut album ‘Glow’ in 2013. I’ve always loved it, even though it did not make it onto my first album. So seven years later, I gave it a new treatment, reproduced the music, and now it’s finally coming out. I hope you like it as much as I do.”

In July, Tensnake collaborated with Miami based Nigerian artist Daramola for the vocals of “Strange Without You”, another single for “L.A.”. Speaking of the record, it is understandable that this production could be the most personal for Tensnake yet:

“I wrote it after a breakup and the idea was to combine into one song the excitement of beginning a new relationship and the strange emotional state you often find yourself in after a breakup. Daramola captured the vibe perfectly and translated it into a bittersweet love song you can also dance to.”

As far as sneak peeks into albums goes, this one has been pretty sufficient to put dance music lovers on the edge of their seats until Friday.

Stevie Wonder Releases Two New Songs

This comes as the 70-year-old legend’s, his first new music in 15 years. The tracks will be released on his own record label, So What the Fuss Records, under Republic Records, which means a break from Motown, where he had been releasing music since 1962.

Wonder said he began writing “Where Is Our Love Song” in 1968 when he was 18 and recently brought it back out and completed it with new lyrics. Gary Clark Jr. on guitar is featured on the track. The second song has also been years in the making. “Can’t Put It in the Hands of Fate” was recently completed with the addition of new lyrics. Busta Rhymes and Rapsody are featured on the track along with five of Wonder’s children.

“When I first wrote it, it was about a relationship. And then I was thinking about where we are in the world and I was thinking … this craziness is unacceptable. We’re not going for it anymore. Change is right now. We can’t put it in hands of fate….. We can’t put voting in the hands of fate.”

The two songs may be included on an in-progress EP, or if that does not proceed, they may be on Through the Eyes of Wonder, Wonder’s long-awaited album.
