Wizkid Releasing New Album “Made in Lagos” October 15th

Nigerian star Wizkid has a new album coming out this Thursday, October 15th, named “Made in Lagos”. The afrobeat singer announced the release date of the album alongside his single “No Stress” back in September.

The promotion for “Made in Lagos” had been underway for a couple years now, first being hinted in 2019. Wizkid has been dubbing this album “best he’s ever made” and that just hypes up the expectations.

Burna Boy, fellow Nigerian superstar, will reportedly be featured in the album, alongside big names such as Skepta, Starboy Terri, Ella Mai, and HER.

Wizkid has already established himself as a household name in the Afrobeats scene, with previous albums; “Superstar”, “Ayo” and “Sounds From The Other Side” winning multiple awards and featured in tours and venues across the World.

Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the artist made headlines in recent weeks about protesting against Nigerian police brutality.

Protesting against SARS, or Special Anti-Robbery Squad, the artist called out for the dissolution of the organization in a mass protest organized in London, also tweeting out numerously, having previously called out the Nigerian President to deal with the matter.

Jack White Pays Tribute to Eddie Van Halen on Saturday Night Live

This past Saturday, October 10th, Jack White paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen on Saturday Night Live by performing tracks from across his career.

The first performance by White was a medley build around the White Stripes’ “Ball and Biscuit,” off of their album Elephant, reworking it in a way to feature snippets of “Don’t Hurt Yourself,” which he had collaborated with Beyonce on her album Lemonade, and “Jesus Is Coming Soon.” The latter is a traditional gospel song written during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic.

Jack White was a last-minute addition to this past Saturday Night Live episode, hosted by Bill Burr. He was added after original musical guest Morgan Wallen was caught partying mask-less, and thus disinvited to the show.

Later on SNL, White brought out a guitar designed by Eddie Van Halen for him. He played the guitar while performing “Lazaretto” as a way to pay tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who passed away earlier that week.

White talked about the guitar’s significance in an Instagram post before the performance. The post featured pictures of the guitar through the process of its making and its current state. In the caption for the post, Jack White said “I thought it could be a nice gesture for me to use this blue Eddie Van Halen model guitar for one of the songs tonight on SNL. the guitar was designed by Eddie (with a few customizations I had added). Eddie was very kind to me and saw to it that this guitar was made for me to my specs. I won’t even insult the man’s talent by trying to play one of his songs tonight. thanks again Eddie for this guitar and rest in peace sir.”

AC/DC Releases Single “Shot In The Dark” Off Of New Album Power Up

Early Wednesday morning, October 7th, AC/DC released a new single “Shot In The Dark,” and announced a new album Power Up to be released November 13. It will be available in various formats, including a limited-edition deluxe “lightbox.”

In a Tweet, the band announced “‘SHOT IN THE DARK.’ THE NEW SINGLE OUT WEDNESDAY @ 12:00 AM NYC / 5:00AM LONDON / 3:00 PM SYDNEY. #PWRUP.”

The chorus of the song says “A shot in the dark / Make it feel alright / A shot in the dark / Run through the whole night / A shot in the dark… A shot in the dark beats a walk in the park.”

The single is the first track off of their forthcoming album. British singer Brian Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd reunite with the band for Power Up. Johnson had stepped aside in 2016 due to doctor’s orders regarding hearing-loss issues. Rudd had a stint in rehab.

The official announcement comes after an unexpected teaser last month with the band saying “ARE YOU READY? #PWRUP,” and revealed Johnson, Rudd, lead guitarist Angus Young, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, and bassist Cliff Williams as their line-up.

Angus Young told Rolling Stone “This record is pretty much a dedication to Malcolm, my brother. It’s a tribute for him like ‘Back in Black’ was a tribute to Bon Scott.”

AC/DC’s 2015 Rock or Bust, their last album, peaked at No. 3 in the U.S. and U.K. and No. 1 in Australia.

Travis Scott Hints at New Album Utopia

Cactus Jack might be back with a brand new album in the upcoming months – or at least he is just teasing his fans about it.

On Monday, the Houston rapper changed his Instagram bio from his 2018 monster hit album “Astroworld” to “Utopia”, and naturally, his fans went crazy.

Scott was also suggestive on Twitter, writing: “GOING TO GO COOK UP AND BUILD THESE WALLS FOR UTOPIA. SEE YOU GUYS SOON.”

And sending a message to DJ’s all over, telling them to get ready as he might be cooking something up for them soon.

Scott’s hints naturally created some confusion over the meaning of Utopia, which could very well be his current state of mind as he recently just hit #1 on Billboard with his latest single “Franchise”, making him the fastest artist to have three number 1 debuts in Billboard’s history.

Whatever Travis’ latest messages might mean, he surely got us all excited.

Billie Eilish and Finneas Perform “No Time To Die” on The Tonight Show

Monday, October 5, Billie Eilish and Finneas performed “No Time To Die,” their James Bond theme to celebrate James Bond Day on The Tonight Show.

The performance is stunning and simply beautiful. Dramatically shot in black and white and what seems to be a music hall as the performance setting. Finneas plays the piano as an accompaniment to Billie’s haunting, whisper-like vocals

Eilish and Finneas spoke to Jimmy Fallon on the show about the song, and its start. “For many years, we’ve wanted to write a Bond song. Not even like we thought we could, it was just more like a fantasy — like a complete fantasy,” Eilish said.

The performance comes along with the announcement that the final Daniel Craig staring 007 film will be postponed until April 21, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the closing of movie theaters.

The song “No Time To Die,” was dropped in February, making Billie Eilish, at 18 years old, the youngest person to write a Bond theme. A video for the movie’s theme was released last week on October 1st which features footage from the film.

“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock,” Eilish said in a statement.

Back together again 🙏🏼

A post shared by Justin Timberlake (@justintimberlake) on

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, JT talked about wanting to work with Timbaland since the age of 14 after first hearing Missy Elliott’s 1997 album Supa Dupa Fly, which Timbaland produced on his own.

He said during the interview “You have to understand, like when I was 14 and we were just actually forming the group [*NSYNC], Supa Dupa Fly was the thing for me. And I said to my mother, ‘I will work with that man one day. I will work with him one day if it’s the last thing I do. And of course, I was 14, and just like… I probably could have said anything at that point and believed it…. We had met a little bit. He really liked ‘It’s Gonna Be Me,’ actually. And we met him outside a studio one time and I was kind of realizing that maybe it wasn’t going to be possible.”

JT has confirmed he has been in the studio with Timbaland working on his upcoming album which is a follow-up to his 2018 Man of the Woods. Hit-Boy, Kaytranada, Danja, and Rob Knox are also amongst those Timberlake has been in the studio with for the upcoming album.
