Warner Music Group Brings on Former Chief of Staff & Director of Content, Jen DeLeon for Twitch Partnership

Warner Music Group (WMG) is the first record label to sign a partnership with Twitch, and Dash’s former Chief of Staff & Director of Content, Jen DeLeon is the host.

Starting as a contractor for talent bookings back in February 2018, DeLeon was promoted to Chief of Staff to CEO, Scott “DJ Skee” Keeney and then Director of Content. While it won’t feel the same without her, Dash is thrilled to see her following her passion of being on-camera in this new role.

Jen DeLeon went to Instagram to share the end of her chapter here at Dash saying, “After 4 years at @dashradio, it’s bittersweet to share that I am moving on to the next chapter. Dash & Skee will ALWAYS be family, but it was time to get uncomfortable, grow and 1000% focus on what truly makes me happy: being on-camera and creating content. I can’t thank my mentor, boss and older brother @djskee for always believing in me, trusting me and putting me in positions to win the past 9 years…. and most importantly, always having my back.

I know we will work together one way or another like we always do. I started at Dash as a contractor for talent booking, Chief of Staff for 2 years, then Director of Content for 1.5 years – What I have learned and experienced is priceless. I met so many amazing people and worked with a team who treated each other like family. I’m going to miss seeing/talking to you guys consistently, our lunches, our funny conversations and always finding a way to magically get sh*t done lol. This feels so weird! And sad… but also exciting.”

Congratulations to our Dash Radio family Jen on the new position, we can’t wait to see what The Music n Stuff show is all about!

Ye Announces Donda 2 Release Date

On August 29th, 2021, Kanye West dropped one of the most advertised and anticipated albums of the past decade. Titled Donda after his mother who passed away in 2007, Kanye released the album with a total of 27 songs with features from A-list celebrities. The list includes Travis Scott, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Young thug, Don Toliver, Ariana Grande, and much more. With an initial release date of July 24th, the album was over a month late, with Kanye blaming his parent record company Universal Music Group, with the unscheduled release date a month later.

The album came during one of the most publicized feuds of recent time, with Kanye and Drake being very outspoken on their dislike for one another. Not surprisingly, Drake then released his album “Certified Lover Boy” just a few days after the Donda drop. This feud has taken many unexpected turns throughout the years, and many are anticipating what is to come when Kanye drops Donda 2, the sequel to Donda.

The news broke of the album drop on January 26th, when Kanye posted on his Instagram the supposed album cover for Donda 2 with the date 2/22/2022, captioning the photo “DONDA 2 COMING 2 22 22”. Along with mentioning that the album will be executively produced by Future, one time Grammy winner and four-time nominee. The album has drawn much anticipation in the week it has been announced. Fans can expect the list of features to be much like the Donda list, with West’s reputation as one of the greatest to ever do it, he is able to have A-list features throughout his albums. Now, with the album supposedly dropping within this month, fans are not only waiting to hear one of the GOAT’s music, but waiting for a potential Drake response as well.

The Weeknd Reveals ‘Dawn FM’ Album Tracklist

The Weeknd released the tracklist for his upcoming Dawn FM album. He posted a snippet of one of the new songs, the 16-track collection kicks off with the title track, followed by “Gasoline,” “How Do I Make You Love Me?,” the single “Take My Breath,” “A Tale”, “Sacrifice,” and “Out of Time.”

The album is due this Friday, Jan. 7, and Abel dropped a one-minute teaser accompanying the song list that gave us a glimpse into his character for this project. The Weeknd created a persona for his last album After Hours and he built on the persona’s story through visuals and even in the SuperBowl halftime show. This new visual opens with images of The Weeknd lying on the ground, a mysterious woman, and the quick glimpse of an aged-up Weeknd with gray hair; the latter is also repeated on the album’s cover.

“And you can kick me, kick me to the curb,” he states in the preview. “It’s OK babe, I promise that I fell to Earth.” A superimposed title card reads “a new sonic universe from the mind of the Weeknd,”

The album is also supposed to have some contributions from Jim Carrey. It is rumored that he will narrate the album but this isn’t confirmed yet, all we know is that the famous comedian will be lending a hand in the project.

We can’t wait to hear what the project sounds like, all that we do know is that Abel doesn’t miss. From House of Balloons to After Hours, The Weeknd has delivered nothing but classics and we expect Dawn FM to be the same. Be sure to listen to the new tracks as they release right here on Dash Radio!

Enter For Your Chance To See Ye & Drake Perform At The Larry Hoover Benefit Concert!

Dash Radio is giving away free tickets to the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert on December 8th in Los Angeles! Enter for your chance to win: Contests | DXSH

The last couple of months of 2021 have shown us an evolved Kanye West. Now known legally as “Ye”, West released Donda, one of the biggest albums of the year on August 29th, 2021. West lived in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for about a month to finish Donda, and recruited artists The Weeknd, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Marilyn, Roddy Ricch, Marilyn Manson, and others to complete the project. He hosted three major listening events in the Mercedes-Benz stadium before the album’s release, including a reconstruction of his childhood home in the southside of Chicago.

Ye recently interviewed with N.O.R.E. on Drink Champs, where he gave the public insight into his personal life. Although Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kanye West, Ye made a point to still refer to her as his wife, intending to do all he can to keep his family together. Ye has also made major headlines for squashing his beef with Drake. The two artists have been feuding for about 4 years, stemming from Drake subliminally alluding to having a relationship with Kim Kardashian in the past. Kanye Went viral on Twitter in November for sharing screenshots of a group chat he created with Drake, Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Pusha T, and Kid Cudi where he took a shot at Drake through text. This came after Drake’s diss to Ye on “Betrayal” with Trippie Redd.

West addressed the beef in his Drink Champs interview, stating that he has a love for Drake although they’ve had their issues in the past couple of years. Shortly after the interview, Kanye shared a video of him with J Prince–offering that he and Drake put their differences aside and perform alongside each other at his Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert in Los Angeles on December 8th. Kanye and Drake officially squashed their beef in person at Drake’s mansion in Toronto, and Drake recently shared videos of him and Kanye together. They can be seen here.

Mike Smiff & Toosii Release Their Joint Single “God Is Real”

Mike Smiff drops off his last single of the year, “God Is Real” featuring Toosii. Having faced his fair share of battles throughout his life, it wasn’t always sunny days in Miami for Mike. Overcoming homelessness to receiving a roster spot on Slip-N-Slide was quite the story but the work doesn’t cease and it’s just beginning. And this is what spurred the inspiration behind his latest single “God Is Real” featuring Toosii.

Mike reflects on his sins and confesses “God Is Real” through his smooth vocals over a guitar track and some heavy drums. Toosii’s verse goes hand in hand with Mike’s and the duo delivered a down South feel-good anthem. The song will remind you no matter what you’ve been through God got your back.

This single will be featured on Mike’s project “Thinking Out Loud” releasing next year. This single follows up his single “Cheese” featuring Hotboii, and “Dade x Broward” featuring his Slip-N-Slide label mate F$O Dinero. With co-signs by other South Florida artists like Kodak Black and Trick Daddy, as well as Boosie Badazz, Mike Smiff is destined for success, as he has yet to throw in the towel no matter what life threw at him.

Kanye, Nas, The Weeknd & Possibly Drake All Dropping This Friday!

This Friday is looking to be one of the biggest days for new releases in recent memory. From Kanye’s Donda, a new Nas album, a single from The Weeknd & even possibly Drake’s long-awaited CLB. We got the inside scoop on what to expect this weekend.

Nas unveils the official tracklist for ‘King’s Disease II’, due out Friday (8/6).

On Tuesday (August 3), Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Nas revealed on his Instagram the tracklist for his upcoming album. The 15-track album will serve as a sequel to his previous project ‘King’s Disease’ and includes features from rap legends Eminem, Lauryn Hill, and EPMD. The album also includes songs with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and YG, Hit-Boy, Charlie Wilson, as well as Blxst. God’s son is coming off his very first Grammy for best rap album, and we’re excited to hear what he has in store for its sequel.

Kanye’s latest album, ‘Donda’, is also scheduled for Friday- pending further delays.

On Saturday (July 31), Ye took to Instagram to confirm a new release date for his long-awaited album ‘Donda’. The post features a loading sign with “DONDA 08.05.2021” at the bottom and no caption. Additionally, the Yeezy designer announced that his team is hosting yet another listening event, scheduled for Friday in Atlanta. After failing to release the album on 7/23 as previously announced, fans have been left guessing when the album will drop.

There has been a lot of buzz around the project, with social media and reporters going crazy over the status of the album. Many reports say West has been living out of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium the past few weeks, making final touches to the project before the release. Recently, ex-T.I. producer DJ Toomp sat down with B High ATL and gave a brutally honest critique of the album so far, saying “I hope the album doesn’t sound like this”. There’s a lot of pressure on Kanye to drop this Friday- will he do it?

Drake confirms his newest project, “Certified Lover Boy” is finished and “on the way”.

On Friday night (July 30), Drake confirmed on the latest episode of Sound 42’s Fri Yiy Friday Show that his upcoming album is officially done. In the interview, the Toronto based rapper sent subliminal shots to “anyone in the way”. He stated “And for the rest of you heathens, I wanna tell you, ’cause I know you’re listening, ’cause you’re always free, don’t trouble people’s kids, don’t bother people’s soul., know what I’m sayin’? OVO, we aim for that head. We don’t aim to please. You see it. Certified Lover Boy on the way. And that’s for anyone in the way.” Drizzy has yet to reveal the official release date of CLB, but it very well could be this Friday.

The Weeknd announces that his new single “Take My Breath” will be released this Friday.

On Monday (August 2), The Weeknd teased a minute-long snippet on Twitter of an upcoming track titled “Take My Breath”. The singer tweeted “8.6.21 new single,” implying the song will drop this Friday. It was featured in an ad for Team USA Women’s Track & Field team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with track stars Sydney McLaughlin, Dalilah Muhammad, Athing Mu, and Gabby Thomas in the video.
