99 Neighbors Release Animated “QWOP” Music Video

99 Neighbors, the hip hop collective, dropped their latest visual for “QWOP” and it’s an animated masterpiece.

The group dropped “QWOP/Basement” in July 2020, a year after they got signed. The visuals for “QWOP” are reminiscent of a Rick & Morty episode.

The plot follows the group on the run from the police and others. They end up escaping on a plane and the entire video is very visually stimulating.

99 Neighbors broke into the industry in January 2019 with the release of their album Television. Since then the collective has released a slew of singles, gotten signed, and built up a huge buzz around them.

Consisting of 9 members they give different energy on every record they release. “QWOP” & “Basement” are both standout records. If you haven’t heard them already go check out 99 Neighbors now and jump on the wave before its too big!

The group reminds us of Wu-Tang Clain & Odd Future. Wu-Tang because their styles vary so much and they really mesh well together on their songs. Odd Future in the sense of their youth and rebellious spirits.

We had the pleasure of sitting down via Instagram Live with a couple of the members of 99 Neighbors and they shared with us how they came together. They also talked about their rise from releasing Television in January 2019 to signing in July 2019 up to their release of “QWOP” & “Basement” in July 2020.

Growing up on the sounds of Michael Jackson, Lil Wayne, Jimi Hendrix, and Mick Jagger, just to name a few, have molded the sound that you are hearing through his music.
