Notorious B.I.G. Unreleased Freestyle Appears in Soda Ad

A previously unreleased 1997 freestyle by Notorious B.I.G. appeared in a new animated Pepsi ad. The freestyle came courtesy of Cey Adams and DJ Enuff, two of B.I.G.’s closest collaborators. They remastered the tapes from 1997 which had been recorded at D&D studios. The Pepsi ad which features the freestyle, was animated by Antnamation and shows B.I.G.’s beloved borough of Brooklyn.

Biggie raps about Pepsi in the ad saying, “Nothing can beat the P-E-P-S-I drink it constantly/ Something ’bout the taste feels great, less filling/ Tell ’em Biggie said drink it all, don’t test me/ Nothing else beats a Pepsi/ If it is, let’s see/ I’m thirsty/ I keep a 3 liter for my crew/ My girl like them diet joints too/ For when she watch her weight, crack the top I can’t wait.”

The ad and unreleased freestyles comes in lead up to the iconic Brooklyn rapper’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 7. B.I.G. will be only the second solo hip-hop artist to be included in the Hall of Fame, the other being Tupac Shakur. Depeche Mode, T. Rex, the Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, and Whitney Houston will also be inducted in November.
