New Music Friday: DMX, Sleater-Kinney, Eminem, Tyga, R3ady, Blueberry Smoke

This week we have new music from a variety of genres, including new album releases by DMX, and Blueberry Smoke, as well as new singles released by Sleater-Kinney & Eminem. 

DMX’s posthumous album, Exodus, was released today. Swizz Beatz worked on and announced the album, which has 13 tracks and features appearances by Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Bono, Snoop Dogg, Benny the Butcher, and more. When announcing the album, Swizz Beatz said, “This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.”

On Wednesday, Sleater-Kinney released their new single “High in the Grass.” The song is to be included on their upcoming album Path of Wellness which is the alternative rock band’s tenth studio album. When talking about Path of Wellness the band said “We wrote it last spring and summer, holed up in Portland, and recorded it in late summer and early fall. This is the first S-K record we’ve produced ourselves. The entire process relied upon taking stock of who and what was nearby, upon the generosity of time, spirit, and input, but mostly upon mutual love, need, and gratitude for making music.”

A slew of new hip hop singles released today including Eminem’s highly anticipated “Killer” (Remix) featuring Jack Harlow & Cordae. Tyga dropped a new single “Splash” featuring Moneybagg Yo. Another LA native, Blxst, released “Movie” with Bino Rideaux. Emerging MC from NY, R3ady, dropped “Anemic” alongside a music video ahead of his project 3 releasing later this summer.

Blueberry Smoke released their new album You Hear Georgia today. The country group released a few songs off of the new album previously, including the title track, “You Hear Georgia,” “Hey Delilah,” and “Ain’t The Same.” The quintet is Atlanta based, and this album, their seventh, celebrates their home. Their 2018 album, Find A Light was critically acclaimed, and debuted number 1 on the Billboard Country Album Sales Chart.
