Miley Cyrus recently revealed that she is currently working on a Metallica cover album.
In a recent interview with Rick Owens for Interview magazine, Cyrus said “I’m calling you from someone else’s bed… There is a story behind it. We’ve been working on a Metallica cover album, and I’m here working on that. We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it felt uninspiring, and now I’ve been totally ignited.”
Other than this though, not much more information was given about the upcoming album by Cyrus. The 27-year-old pop queen had covered the iconic rock band’s 1991 hit “Nothing Else Matters” at last year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Miley Cyrus is known for singing covers of pop and classic rock songs when given the opportunity, especially as of lately. On The Tonight Show, she performed Hall and Oates’ “Maneater” and before that at the virtual iHeartRadio Music Festival, Cyrus covered Blondie’s “Heart Of Glass.”
Just this past weekend, Miley covered bands like Pearl Jam, The Velvet Underground, and The Cardigans at numerous virtual events. At the Save Our Stages Fest (#SOSFest), Cyrus performed live from Whiskey a Go Go, and covered The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry.”
