Kid Cudi Set To Release MOTM III This Friday

The time has finally come for music lovers and Kid Cudi fans around the world to be treated with a new Cudi album, Man On The Moon III: The Chosen.

The third and final installment of the Man On The Moon album series, The Chosen will be released this Friday, December 11th.

Back on October 26th, Cudi had released an unexpected and mysterious teaser for the album, fueling up the music world with excitement.

Just this Monday, Scott Mescudi took to his social media to announce that the long-awaited album will be coming out on Friday, and also gave some more background about the album. Here’s what we know about it so far:

MOTM III will re-unite Kudi with his original production team.

The back-side of the album confirms the “return of the team that helped start it all.” The team includes producers Dot Da Genius, Mike Dean, Plain Pat, Ramii and Emile Haynie who worked on the first MOTM’s.

Mr. Rager is back.

Mr. Rager, who we know from the previous albums as Kid Cudi’s alter ego that serves to portray his good and bad side, is making a comeback with this installment. After having suffered his battles with addiction and depression in the past decade, Cudi notes, on the back of the album, that he

“… found hope and overcame the darkness that was plaguing his life… But just as things were getting better, more obstacles came his way… Happiness isn’t forever. What he thought was peace turns into a nightmare. In one night, he must face himself again and fight to win back his soul from the evil Mr. Rager.”

The multi-act album structure will continue with MOTM III.

Just like how the first two of the MOTM series were structured, MOTM III: The Chosen will also be broken up into four acts. The acts are titled; Madness, The Menace, Heart of Rose Gold, and Powers. This also hints at the possibility of a narration of some sort through-out the album, just like Common’s narration in Man On The Moon: The End of Day.

A new Kid Cudi music video will be out this Thursday after 4 years.

Along with the announcement of the release date on Monday, Cudi also shared another shorter teaser for the album. While the teaser doesn’t give away much about the album besides the fact that it will be dark, mysterious, and exciting, it comes with the promise of a new Kid Cudi music video coming, for the first time in 4 years.
