Justin Timberlake and Timbaland are Teaming Up for New Music

On Monday night, September 28, Justin Timberlake posted a brief clip of him and longtime producer Timbaland nodding along to a beat in the studio. JT’s caption of the post stating “Back together again,” with prayer hands emoji. This post comes after Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel reportedly welcomed a second child.

Timbaland posted the same video with the caption “We back!!!!!!!” The instrumental track in the video has them grooving to a funky pop sound and Timbaland seems to say approvingly, “That’s the beat!”

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, JT talked about wanting to work with Timbaland since the age of 14 after first hearing Missy Elliott’s 1997 album Supa Dupa Fly, which Timbaland produced on his own.

He said during the interview “You have to understand, like when I was 14 and we were just actually forming the group [*NSYNC], Supa Dupa Fly was the thing for me. And I said to my mother, ‘I will work with that man one day. I will work with him one day if it’s the last thing I do. And of course, I was 14, and just like… I probably could have said anything at that point and believed it…. We had met a little bit. He really liked ‘It’s Gonna Be Me,’ actually. And we met him outside a studio one time and I was kind of realizing that maybe it wasn’t going to be possible.”

JT has confirmed he has been in the studio with Timbaland working on his upcoming album which is a follow-up to his 2018 Man of the Woods. Hit-Boy, Kaytranada, Danja, and Rob Knox are also amongst those Timberlake has been in the studio with for the upcoming album.
