Eddie Vedder Releases Two New Songs “Matter of Time,” and “Say Hi”

On Wednesday, November 18, Eddie Vedder, of Pearl Jam, released two new songs “Matter of Time,” and “Say Hi,” after performing them at the charity event, Ventures Into Cures. The event benefited EB Research Partnership, a non-profit started by Vedder and his wife, Jill in support of finding a cure for epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

In a statement, Jill Vedder said “Ed and I are incredibly grateful to everyone joining us for Venture Into Cures. Every day kids with EB and their families face astonishing challenges — this event will give people a glimpse into their world. EBRP’s mission is to find a cure for EB, and this event will help bring us one step closer to making that mission a reality by adding momentum to the work being done.”

“Matter of Time,” is a beautiful piano ballad that Vedder dedicates to those with EB. The video for the song is animated and takes us along the lives and experiences of those with EB, and what a cure would mean for them. In the song, Vedder sings, “I’ll take the joy, I’ll take the pain. We’re just like you, we’re all the same.”

“Say Hi” is dedicated to Eli Meyer, a 6-year-old with EB. Vedder sings “with all our imperfections / your light shines through in all directions/ cutting through.”

The two songs will be released on a special 7” vinyl, which can be preordered here. A Ventures Into Cures poster is also available and can be preordered here.
