On Monday, March 15th, Demi Lovato announced a new album called Dancing With the Devil…The Art of Starting Over. The album will be released on April 2nd and will be a companion to Lovato’s upcoming documentary Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil. The documentary is to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival, and then will be available on YouTube on March 23rd.
Lovato announced and detailed the new album during a 75-minute live-stream on Clubhouse. When talking about the album, Lovato said “If you listen to it track by track, if you follow the tracklisting, it’s kind of actually like the non-official soundtrack to the documentary. Because it really does follow my life over the past couple of years.”
The album includes 19 songs and 3 bonus cuts. Both the album and the documentary, which is directed by Michael Ratner, are about Lovato’s overdose in 2018, her path to recovery, and healing. Included on the album will be the song “Anyone,” which was performed at the 2020 Grammys by Lovato.

Dancing With the Devil…The Art of Starting Over will be the first new album from Lovato since her 2017 album Tell Me You Love Me.
