This week Cardi B’s breakout single “Bodak Yellow” went Diamond, making her the first female rapper to accomplish this feat.
The song was released in 2017 and was featured on Cardi’s debut album Invasion of Privacy. The song title is a nod to Kodak Black and Cardi tweeted out this week that Kodak actually has royalties on the song.

Cardi revealed last year that the video for “Bodak Yellow” cost her about $15k to make while her newer video for “WAP” cost her upwards of $1,000,000. The video for “Bodak Yellow” is sitting at around 968M views and is sure to eclipse a whopping billion views in the coming years.
Cardi’s latest single “Up” is still dominating the airwaves as we patiently wait for her follow-up to her debut album Invasion of Privacy. Cardi is set to perform at the 2021 Grammy’s & we’re confident she will have some new music to release following the show.
Believe it or not, Cardi B’s first radio interview was right here at Dash Radio and the star has been breaking records ever since.
