New Show Alert: Rave To The Grave

Sometimes partying is just partying, but sometimes it’s more: a communion, a revelation, an endurance test, a learning experience, a life raft, a lifelong memory. RAVE TO THE GRAVE takes partying – and the history of electronic dance music and club culture – very seriously.
RTTG sits down with the world’s most interesting DJs, promoters, nightlife icons, and freaks of all ages to hear their wildest party stories, life advice, and electronic music history. Along the way, Rave to the Grave is a gateway drug for diving deeper into music, society, race, politics, identity
and the ways in which the dancefloor both reflects and transforms culture.
Rave To The Grave: Episode #1 features AC Slater who will be discussing Night Bass, Rave Antics, and How to Be a Successful DJ. L.A.’s bassline king AC Slater also talks about epic rave adventures, American cheese, the heyday of
happy hardcore and how to build your own EDM empire.
The show will be hosted by Vivian Host (yes, that’s her real name) who has spent 20+ years traveling around the world – from L.A’s illegal warehouse parties to Rio’s favelas to Cape Town’s all-night kwaito jams – in pursuit of transcendent nightlife experiences. She is a journalist, DJ, producer, promoter, radio host, curator, and lifelong raver, born in Hollywood, residing in Brooklyn.
She is the former editor-in-chief of XLR8R and VICE’s THUMP, the host of radio shows like Peak Time and United States of Bass on RBMA Radio, and has contributed to outlets such as Pitchfork, Urb, SPIN, Resident Advisor, NPR, and beyond.
In the rave scene, she is best known as Star Eyes, a DJ and music producer who has dropped heavy bass music at clubs and festivals around the world and as part of crews like Trouble & Bass, Eklektic, B.A.S.S. Kru and her own Chaos Clan. Vivian loves fog machines, Sharpies, giant speaker stacks, and hearing your crazy stories.
