SNL Makes Sketch Parody of Eminem’s “Stan”

On Saturday, December 5th’s episode of Saturday Night Live, the cast of the show performed a sketch parody of Eminem’s music video for his song “Stan,” calling the sketch “Stu.” Eminem made a cameo in the sketch while Pete Davidson plays, Stu, a man obsessed with Santa Claus. In the original music video for “Stan,” Stan is a man obsessed with Eminem.

In the parody sketch, Stu consistently writes letters to Santa asking for a PlayStation 5 for Christmas, but he never gets a letter in return. Davidson raps, “Dear Santa, I notice you never wrote me a letter back/ That’s fine, dog, except really I think that’s kind of wack/ If you can’t help your biggest fan, then you should just retire/ Or next time you slide down my chimney, I’ll set your ass on fire.”

Kate McKinnon plays special guest Dido from the music video and single. She sings about Stu wanting the PS5, “He can’t buy it himself because he lost his job because he was stealing from his boss.”

Eminem makes a cameo at the end of the video. He appears by his Christmas tree and opens a present which ends up being a PlayStation 5. He reads the tag on the present and says “To Shady, from Santa. That’s crazy, a PS5? I didn’t even ask for this. I guess Shady must’ve been a good boy this year. Sorry, Stu, you fucked up.”
